Races Neighboring country aka “crying baby”

Within this world most of politicians have echoed out the one policy one standard. Amongst the most country like US, Russia, China, Korea and many more countries, every leader has pledge to support the one rule, one policy and one standard in order to make this world a better living. Respectively, each country has done their best to manage her own people, but there is something that is really bugging me as a person that used to live in Asian country and educated abroad to see the country that I have thought and considerate one of the developed country amongst ASEAN countries to show and display an unwanted character of a double standard to its own people and neighbor country. Based on my observation and interviewing foreigners who live and work in Bangkok, Thailand is one of the most races countries that I have ever seen amongst ASEAN countries. Thailand can walk to walk but not talk to talk. Thailand can pointing finger to other country, but other country can’t pointing finger back at them.

Internal Battle

Within her own people, Thailand has used and practiced a double stand toward it own people and for most recent evident is the “red shirt” and the “yellow shirt”. Thai government put a hefty find on the red shirt leader and hunting them down across borders into a neighboring country, but when it comes to the yellow shirt, none of the yellow shirt has been brought to justice for halting and siege Bangkok airport for weeks and loses a lot of national revenue and yet there is nothing happen to the yellow shirt leaders.

Neighbor battle

Thailand has proclaimed themselves to be the number one in the Southeast Asia and demand everyone to respect her sovereignty and dignity, but yet Thailand never respect any neighbor country such as Cambodia, Burma, Lao and Vietnam. Recent event is Preah Vihear Temple. Thailand has used this sacred place and turns it into a political arena and for political battle field. Any civilian who got caught crossing the unmark and demarcate border, will be shot or shot to dead, but on another hand when neighbor country caught a Thai civilian crossing border, they always work through the diplomatic relation in exchange for the captive. Thailand has promote themselves to be the land of smile and pleasant but in reality, Thailand is one of the worst country amongst Southeast Asia when come to treating people with respect and human kind. Neighboring countries often label Thailand as a double headed snake due to the fact that Thailand can paint the perfect picture for the world but in reality, Thailand is one of the cruelest countries ever.

Most recent event, US and Russia put pressure on Thai government to extradite Viktor Bout and US has dispatch an airplane and the US Marshall to pickup Bout back to US for charge in US, but Thai is pending the withdraw decision and Thai foreign minister Kasit Piromya said "The US and Russia should not have put pressure on Thailand concerning Bout's extradition. We are not taking any side on the matter. We are following our justice system and procedure. They, also democratic countries, should respect our system as they do to theirs," the minister said.

Kasit said that the dispatching of the US airplane and marshal is not appropriate in Thailand's views as the country should have waited until the procedure concerning the matter officially finished.
"About dispatching the aircraft to pick up Bout, the US should have shown more respect to our justice system. No matter the US intended or not, it should not have did that," he said.

When it comes to Thailand, she yells for fair play and respect, but Thailand herself does not understand the word respect and fair play. It is OK for Thailand to judge some neighbor countries and it is NOT OK to judge Thailand. Thai government need to go back to the basic play ground rules before stepping into the game. Thailand is acting like a baby brother that he can go and play with an older brother but when the game is heating up, he runs around and screaming for help and unfair play.

Thailand has a lot of growing up to do especially Abhisit government.
